Ian Ashbee will serve a two-match suspension after being shown his tenth yellow card of the season in the 3-1 defeat against Middlesbrough at the weekend.
The City captain was booked for dissent following the home side's second goal and will now miss the trip to Sunderland as well as the home clash with Liverpool.
