Pomey Deny Benjani Payment

Portsmouth football club have released a statement revealing that they have not asked Manchester City for an early settlement for the transfer of Benjani as reported by the Daily Mirror.

The club wish to state that both the transfer fee and the terms of the deal are the same as in January 2008 when the deal was originally agreed.

Pompey announced at the time that half of the £7.75M up-front and subsequent payments were to follow after 25, 50 and 75 appearences.
