GILLETT SEEKING $400 MILLION INVESTMENT

American George Gillett is seeking a partner to invest $400 Million in to his sports empire which includes the Montreal Canadiens (NHL) and Liverpool FC (soccer).

The French speaking paper La Presse have cited that Gillett has been proposing several business executives about them investing $400 million and becoming a junior partner, but unfortunately there as been little interest.

Gillett is hoping to keep hold of his stake in the above teams but needs investment or he could well end up losing them.

"My family and I regard this possibility as the last resort. We are a lot more interested in some kind of (business) association than in the sale of the Montreal Canadiens or one of our other enterprises," Gillett told the newspaper on Friday.

The American's financial well being isn't really a well guarded secret but it seems that if its not the Montreal Canadiens he's touting about, its Liverpool FC, it seems Gillett has biten off more than he can chew so unless he finds someone else to come to the table, he could well end up with a bad case of heartburn.
